ABOUT

During August of 2020 until July 2021, LaLa Speech Therapy partnered with Linguistic Connections to provide Developmental Consultanting for Mission Neighborhood Centers’ Head Start Program. We accomplished the following during this collaboration:

  • Screened 10 sites in the Mission, Tenderloin, and Bayview with 400+ children in collaboration with Linguistic Connections.

  • Provided emergency support services to 130 children and families virtually.

  • Lead a bi-weekly support group for teachers and staff in English and Spanish.

  • Co-lead bilingual, monthly caregiver pláticas in collaboration with Instituto Familiar de La Raza and Project Commotion.

  • Facilitated the first intensive wraparound intervention for a child in crisis and prevented expulsion. Sought housing, medical, and food resources for the family.
